Fix Android Wi-Fi Errors

Check the Password

The first possibility is that the authentication has failed. Make sure you entered valid password. Check the upper case, lower case letters, numbers and special characters, if any.

Create a Shortcut for Wi-Fi

Try creating a shortcut for your Wi-Fi on your main screen. Here’s how:

1. Tap and long hold on an empty area of the main screen.

2. This opens up All Widgets screen.

3. Tap the screen from right-left to view other pages.

4. Drag and drop the “Wi-Fi” icon on your main screen.

Ascertain Signal Strength

Go to Wi-Fi settings and ascertain the signal strength. Check the connection status and signal strength.

1. Unlock the phone.

2. Tap Menu key.

3. Tap Settings icon, and then Wi-Fi icon.

4. Now that you have different Wi-Fi connections and status. Check the status of your active Wi-Fi.

5. Tap the active Wi-Fi connection to see a dialog with more connection information. Ascertain the following:

  • Is the Status displayed to be connected?
  • What is the Signal Strength? Is it poor?
  • Check the Link Speed

6. Diagnose the problem accordingly.

Determine Background Synchronizations

Many apps synchronize data in background. To fix Android Wi-Fi errors it is important to stop background sync.

1. Press Menu, tap Settings.

2. Tap Accounts & Sync.

3. Set Auto Sync: Off

4. Exit the page.

Remember, you can also alternatively turn off sync for select apps. To do so, tap an app name and then disable it.

Remove Recently Installed Apps

Did you install new apps recently? Uninstall them as follows:

1. Tap Menu.

2. Press and long hold icon of any app that you want to uninstall.

3. Now that you’ve two options at the top of the screen- Uninstall or Cancel. Select the former.
