Error 961 in Android Devices

Abort and Restart the App

There might be a problem running Google Play Store app process. Forcefully stop the process and restart the app again.

  1. Tap Menu | Settings.
  2. Tap Apps.
  3. Tap All icon on the bottom right.
  4. Tap Google Play Store app.
  5. Tap Force Stop button.
  6. Tap Menu.
  7. Tap Google Play Store icon in the upper right corner of the screen.

 

Delete App-Stored Data & Cache Content

Clear the contents, data stored by Google Play Store app as well as clear up the cache content.

  1. Refer to steps # 1-4 under Abort and Restart the App section.
  2. Tap the following buttons:
    • Clear Data
    • Clear Defaults
  3. Install and use STCleaner.

 

Uninstall Updates

Remove any updates that are recently installed.

  2. Tap Uninstall Updates button.

 

Use Recovery Mode

The Recovery Mode might be helpful in fixing error 961 on your smartphone.

  1. Tap and hold the Power key of your phone.
  2. Tap Power Off.
  3. Wait till your phone switches off.
  4. Press Power and hold Volume Up/ Down keys simultaneously.
  5. This shows up Boot Mode Selection page.
  6. Highlight “Recovery” option using volume up-down keys.
  7. Now that a triangle exclamation point will appear in front of Android logo. Open System Recovery.
  8. Tap Wipe Cache, or highlight it and then use Power key to select.
  9. Tap Reboot system now button.
