Find this option under <i>Data Execution Prevention <\/i>tab in <i>Performance settings<\/i>. Use <i>sysdm.cpl<\/i> command in Run dialog.<\/p>\n<h2><b>Exclude Steam File from Antivirus Security<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>In the same manner, exclude Steam client executable files from the Antivirus protection. Use the Options\/ Settings dialog &gt; Exclusions tab. The steps may vary.<\/p>\n<h2><b>End &amp; Restart Process<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>First, expand the Task Manager interface by clicking \u201cMore details\u201d option after opening it with its shortcut Ctrl + Alt + Delete. Then under <i>Processes<\/i> tab you shall find the Steam.exe entry. Right-click that entry; select \u201cRestart\u201d option. If that option isn\u2019t available, choose \u201cEnd task\u201d and then manually start it- either using its Desktop shortcut or by typing full file path into the Run dialog (Windows Key + R).<\/p>\n<h2><b>Use Compatibility Troubleshooter<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>This wizard helps diagnose problems that prevent a program from running. Adjust Steam to run on the version you\u2019re currently using. Choose \u201cTroubleshoot compatibility\u201d option from context menu. Alternatively, use the Compatibility tab in Shortcut Properties to manually adjust the settings and choose an earlier OS version.<\/p>\n<h2><b>Download Required Driver Update<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Google for the following driver update. Install it through its setup wizard, or use the Device Manager &gt; Network Adapter &gt; Properties &gt; Driver &gt; Update Driver Software wizard to locate the downloaded setup file and install it on your computer.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Ralink &#8211; WLAN &#8211; D-Link DWA-140 RAngeBooster N USB Adapter<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>After completion, restart your machine.<\/p>\n<p>You may also want to check the list of all installed updates.
