Remember, your computer must be set up to recognize self-bootable media (such as, a USB flash drive or DVD ROM) by configuring the BIOS settings properly. Change the boot sequence.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Copy \/Y C:\\Windows\\System32\\dllcache\\DNSAPI.dll C:\\Windows\\System32\\DNSAPI.dll<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you\u2019re prompted to overwrite specified DLL file, please do confirm.<\/p>\n<h2><b>Copy Missing File from Installation Media<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>In the same manner, you\u2019ve an alternative way to copy missing DNSAPI.DLL file from the installation media if the contents of \u201cDLLCache\u201d folders are also corrupted. Here\u2019s the command for you:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>CD X:\\i386<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Copy dnsapi.dl_ C:\\Windows\\System32<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Replace \u201cX\u201d with your self-bootable media drive letter.<\/p>\n<h2><b>Disable Conflicting Services<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Some services reportedly conflict and cause DNSAPI.DLL error. There are two ways to disable conflicting services. This should help.<\/p>\n<h2><b>Change Local Area Network Configs<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Using <i>Internet Properties <\/i>dialog box with its i<i>netcpl.cpl<\/i> command, disable using a proxy server for your LAN. Go to Connections and find your LAN Settings.<\/p>\n<h2><b>Reset Network Adapter (WinSock)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Using an elevated Command Prompt run the command \u201cnetsh winsock reset\u201d to clear up your network adapter configurations to system defaults. Some problems tend to cause DNSAPI.dll is missing error.<\/p>\n<h2><b>Reset Crap Out of your Network<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Reset the crap out of your network using the commands given below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Netsh interface ipv4 reset<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Netsh interface ipv6 reset<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Ipconfig \/flushdns<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Re-run the App with Administrative Privileges<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Exit and re-open the application with required administrative privileges.
