Click Next.<\/li>\n<li>In the subsequent Choose Service page, select \u201cPOP or IMAP\u201d option, click Next.<\/li>\n<li>In the POP and IMAP Account Settings page, fill up all the required information.<\/li>\n<li>Select \u201cIMAP\u201d option in the Account Type drop down box. (<i>Server Information<\/i> category)<\/li>\n<li>Click More Settings button.<\/li>\n<li>This opens up a new dialog.<\/li>\n<li>Click Outgoing Server tab.<\/li>\n<li>Check-up the box labeled \u201cMy outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Click OK.<\/li>\n<li>Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><b>Uninstall Conflicting Updates<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Windows Update KB2837618 and KB2837643 are known to cause IMAP folder error in Microsoft Office Outlook. (<i>Info<\/i> tab in the Main Menu).<\/li>\n<li>Select Account Settings from context menu options.<\/li>\n<li>This opens up a new dialog named Account Settings.<\/li>\n<li>You see the list of all email accounts in Email tab.<\/li>\n<li>Select your active email account which displayed IMAP folder error.<\/li>\n<li>Click Change icon.<\/li>\n<li>Click More Settings in the new dialog that opens.<\/li>\n<li>Click the Advanced tab.<\/li>\n<li>Click Folder Options | Root folder path.<\/li>\n<li>Select Inbox.<\/li>\n<li>Click the Save button.<\/li>\n<li>Now test your send\/ receive request by pressing F9 key of your keyboard.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><b>Scan for Registry Errors<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>It is recommended that you scan your computer for possible registry errors and internal conflicts.
