For best results, it\u2019s recommended to scan your system with ST Cleaner and sweep clean all the junk. Furthermore, here are a few important things you should do to make your computer error-free.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div class=\"repair-download_home\">\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2><b>Re-plug Cables<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Sometimes your hard drive\u2019s data cables fail to transmit information. This results in read\/ write error. Unplug and re-plug both data and power cables of your hard drive and check if the problem still persists.<\/p>\n<h2><b>Replace Cables<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>If reconnecting the cables again doesn\u2019t fix your problem, try replacing the cables. Buy new data and power cables for your hard drive and plug them up.<\/p>\n<h2><b>Make sure Hard Drive is on Master Connector<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Master connector is end of the cable. Make sure your hard drive jumper is set to master connector and not anywhere else.<\/p>\n<h2><b>Do Not Attach Secondary Drive<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Do you\u2019ve a secondary drive? If so, do not attach it to the same cable you\u2019re currently using.<\/p>\n<h2><b>Reset your BIOS<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Your BIOS configurations are changed. Reset your BIOS to get rid of disk error in Windows 8.1.<\/p>\n<p>1. Restart your PC first.<\/p>\n<p>2. Press Delete or F2 key repeatedly until you see BIOS Configuration screen.<\/p>\n<p>3. As soon as you see the screen, go to Exit Menu | Restore default settings.<\/p>\n<p>4. Save the changes and exit.<\/p>\n<h2><b>Check Disk for Errors<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>You may have to check the hard disk for errors using Disk CheckUp utility in Windows 8.1.<\/p>\n<p>1. Double click Computer icon.<\/p>\n<p>2. Right click a drive, say C:\\<\/p>\n<p>3. Select Properties.<\/p>\n<p>4. Click Tools tab in the new dialog that opens.<\/p>\n<p>5. Click \u201cCheck Now\u201d button under \u201cError-checking\u201d category.<\/p>\n<p>6. Check-up following checkboxes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Automatically fix file system errors<\/li>\n<li>Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>7. Click the Start button in Disk CheckUp utility to conduct scan and repair process.<\/p>\n<p>8. Remember, you will be asked to reboot your machine as your Windows partition cannot be scanned while it is in use. Schedule a disk check-up scan and then restart.<\/p>\n<h2><b>Remove Malicious Registry Keys<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Sometimes an infected machine displays disk read\/ write errors. Removing malicious Registry keys is essential in such cases.<\/p>\n<p>1. Press Windows Key + R, type \u201cRegEdit\u201d and click OK.<\/p>\n<p>2. Delete following subkey:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Active Setup\\Installed Components\\random<\/li>\n<li>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\run\\ random<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>3. Exit out of the screen.<\/p>\n<h2><b>Remove Trojan Files<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>You\u2019re experiencing the problem as your system is probably infected by a Trojan horse virus. Delete the files given below. It is highly recommended to scan your system using powerful Antivirus program.<\/p>\n<p>1. Double click Computer icon.<\/p>\n<p>2. Open following folder:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>C:\\Windows\\System32<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>3. Delete a file named Ping.exe<\/p>\n<p>4. Open following folder:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>C:\\Windows\\Assembly\\GAC<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>5.
