Besides, we\u2019ll also discuss how to transfer the ownership of some files in your OneDrive account to your contacts and non-contacts. The first person in the list is the folder owner. People with permissions to edit the documents will have the Can edit status. Those with only viewing permissions will have the Can view status.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Method 2:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Open the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/onedrive.live.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">OneDrive website<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and sign-in to your OneDrive account.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Right-click on a file or folder to check its ownership.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Select the Details option from the right-click menu options.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click on Manage Access.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You\u2019ll see all the people with whom the file\/ folder is shared. The topmost person is the owner of that file\/ folder.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><b>Transferring Ownership of your OneDrive Files &amp; Folders<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Method 1:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Open up OneDrive and click the Shared tab.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Choose a file or folder you want to change permissions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click the Shared link ahead of the file or folder in the Sharing column. If you\u2019re unable to see it, make sure that you\u2019re not viewing in the Tiles mode.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click on Manage Access | Grant Access.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Type in the email address or name of the person (if thy\u2019re already in contacts) to add them as the new owner.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Select Can Edit next to the recipient\u2019s email id or name.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As soon as the changes are saved, they will start seeing the file or folder in the Shared tab of their OneDrive account.
