End Process through Task Manager<\/h2>\n

Before deleting the actual file first end the process using Task Manager.<\/p>\n

  1. Press Windows Key + X.<\/li>\n
  2. Select Task Manager.<\/li>\n
  3. This opens up Task Manager. Click Details tab.<\/li>\n
  4. Right-click atibtmon.exe, select End Task.<\/li>\n
  5. Exit out of the screen.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Delete Original File<\/h2>\n

    Go to the parent directory that contains atibtmon.exe file and delete it.<\/p>\n

    1. Double click Computer icon on your Desktop.<\/li>\n
    2. Locate the following directory:
      \nC:\\Windows\\System32\\<\/strong><\/li>\n
    3. Delete the file named atibtmon.exe. Just move it to Recycle Bin, do not permanently delete, in case the error still persists.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

       <\/p>\n

      Remove atibtmon.exe Entry from Startups List<\/h2>\n

      Turn off all startup and services programs. Remove Atibtmon.exe entry in the startup list.<\/p>\n

      1. Press Windows Key + R.<\/li>\n
      2. Type \u201cREGEDIT\u201d, press ENTER.<\/li>\n
      3. This opens up Registry Editor. Locate the\u00a0following subkey:
        \nHKEY_CURRENT_USER | Software | Microsoft | Windows | CurrentVersion | Run<\/strong><\/li>\n
      4. Delete all Non-Microsoft startups, including references to atibtmon.exe file.<\/li>\n
      5. Locate following subkey:
        \nHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE | Software | Microsoft | Windows | CurrentVersion | Run<\/strong><\/li>\n
      6. Refer to step # 4 above.<\/li>\n
      7. Exit out of the screen.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Change Power Options<\/h2>\n

        Check your existing power plan. Set a power plan for maximum performance.<\/p>\n

        1. Press Windows Key + X.<\/li>\n
        2. Select Power Options.<\/li>\n
        3. This opens Power Options page in Control Panel window.<\/li>\n
        4. Now it shows active power plan. Select \u201cHigh performance\u201d plan. Sometimes, this option is hidden. Click the downward arrow inside \u201cShow additional plans\u201d category.<\/li>\n
        5. Click \u201cChange plan settings\u201d link ahead of \u201cHigh performance\u201d plan.<\/li>\n
        6. Click \u201cRestore default settings for this plan\u201d link, and then click Save changes button.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

           <\/p>\n

          Reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable<\/h2>\n

          There may be a case of corruption of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable files. Uninstall and reinstall the tool as follows:<\/p>\n

          1. Press Windows Key + X.<\/li>\n
          2. Select Programs and Features.<\/li>\n
          3. This shows the list of all installed programs. Right-click Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable package, select Uninstall.<\/li>\n
          4. Follow the removal wizard, reboot your PC.<\/li>\n
          5. Visit Microsoft Download Center<\/a>, download the latest version available.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            Revert back your PC Settings<\/h2>\n

            There may be some recent changes in your computer\u2019s settings. Revert back your PC settings with System Restore.<\/p>\n

            2. Select Properties.<\/li>\n
            3. Click \u201cAdvanced system settings\u201d link.<\/li>\n
