Samsung offers users free basic cloud storage service to protect their photos and files from accidental deletion, device malfunction, mobile theft, liquid damage and fire. Usually, when you unbox your device and boot it for the first time, Samsung asks you to register an account online. As a Samsung user, you get 5 GB of free storage quota. If you\u2019ve imported data from other calendar apps, it may also contain imported data from Google Calendar and Microsoft Exchange.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Contacts:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It includes all contacts stored on your device including your family, friends, colleagues, non-assigned contacts and emergency contacts. In addition to individual contacts, your Samsung phone allows you to bring specific sets of contacts together and form groups. When you backup data to Samsung Cloud, it backups these group contacts as well.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Call History: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It includes all incoming and outgoing calls to\/ from your device.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Messages: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It includes any text and multimedia message you\u2019ve sent and received.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Apps: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It includes all APK files of the installed apps. These APK files are required to re-install your apps after you reset your phone.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Device Settings: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It includes all user preferences. such as saved Wifi connections, keyboard themes, ringtones, display settings, accessibility settings, battery optimization settings, lock screen patterns\/ pin, general management settings, app-specific settings, and much more.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Documents:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It includes any files that you\u2019ve created with Office programs or downloaded from the Internet. It may include PDFs, DOCX, TXT and HTML files.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Music Files: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It includes all MP3, WAV, OGG, M4A and 3GA music files you downloaded or synced with your smartphone.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Home Screen:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It includes your wallpapers, layout and other home screen settings.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Voice Recordings:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It includes any audio you\u2019ve recorded with the Voice Recorder app.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Clock:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It includes your clocks, world clocks, timers, clock styles, etc.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>\u00a0 <b>Things to keep in mind before transferring content<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before starting the file download\/ upload, make sure to switch from the cellular data network to Wi-Fi to avoid network charges. While you\u2019re downloading or uploading files, you can continue using your phone.<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is no direct way to transfer files between Samsung Cloud and Google Drive. You&#8217;ll need to download files from Samsung Cloud and then re-upload them back to Google Drive, and vice versa.<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Until a few years ago, Samsung restricted access to Samsung Cloud to only mobile devices. There was no means to login to Samsung Cloud through a web browser on your PC\/ laptop. Thankfully, things have changed now. Now you can login to your Samsung Cloud account on a computer\/ laptop and view, delete and download files with ease.<\/span> \u00a0<\/p>\r\n<h2><b>Transfer files from Samsung Cloud to Google Drive<\/b><\/h2>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you have backed up your files to Samsung cloud and need to transfer them to Google Drive, follow the below procedure. We\u2019ll first restore files to your device and then re-upload them back on Google Drive.<\/span> <b>Step 1 Restore data from Samsung Cloud<\/b><\/p>\r\n<ol>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Turn on your Wi-Fi.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Swipe upwards on your Home Screen to open the Main Menu.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tap the Settings icon.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Select Accounts and Backup.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tap Samsung Cloud.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tap Restore Data.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wait until all the files are successfully restored.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<p>\u00a0 <b>Step 2: Upload files on Google Drive<\/b><\/p>\r\n<ol>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Open the Google Drive app.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click the Add icon (plus sign) on the lower right.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tap the Upload option.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Select the file(s) you want to upload. To select multiple files, tap and hold a filename. Tap another file to add to the selection.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Google Drive will begin uploading your files.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<h2><b>Transfer files from Google Drive to Samsung Cloud<\/b><\/h2>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Follow the procedure given below to download files from Google Drive and upload on Samsung Cloud:<\/span> <b>Step 1: Download files from Google Drive<\/b><\/p>\r\n<ol>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Make sure that you&#8217;re connected to the Internet.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Download the Google Drive app from Google Play.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use your Google Drive credentials to sign in to your account.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tap the Files icon at the far right corner at the bottom of your screen to display the contents of your Google Drive account.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tap a file you want to Upload and hold it on for about 4-5 seconds.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Select other files by simply tapping them once.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tap the Menu icon (3 dots) on the upper right corner of your screen.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Select Download.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The download may start now. Wait until all the files are downloaded.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<p>\u00a0 <b>Step 2: Upload files to Samsung Cloud<\/b><\/p>\r\n<ol>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Swipe upwards on your Home Screen to open the Main Menu.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tap the Settings icon.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tap Accounts and Backup.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Select Samsung Cloud.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the next page, you should find the Upload button.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After tapping the Upload button, the My Files option will open up.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Open a folder that contains files you want to upload.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Select multiple files in a folder using the checkbox on the upper left corner.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once you&#8217;ve finished selecting your files, tap Done on the bottom.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Samsung Cloud will start uploading your files.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ol>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you\u2019re a Samsung user, you\u2019re likely already using Samsung Cloud.
