Installation Procedure for Google Drive on Mac<\/h2>\n

  1. Open the Safari <\/b>web browser and navigate to the official Google Drive download\u00a0page<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n
  2. Download the Mac edition of Google Drive and double click the installbackupandSync.dmg <\/b>file which can be found in your Mac\u2019s Downloads <\/b>folder.<\/li>\n
  3. In the installer wizard, simply drag the Google Drive icon on to the Applications <\/b>icon.<\/li>\n
  4. Once the installation is successful, go to the Applications folder, and double-click Google Drive to launch it.<\/li>\n
  5. A warning dialogue will appear indicating that Google Drive is externally downloaded from the Internet. It is safe to ignore it and go ahead with the Open <\/b>option.<\/li>\n
  6. In the Welcome page, click the Get Started <\/b>button and you\u2019ll be prompted to enter your Google Drive log-in credentials. If you don\u2019t have a Google Drive account, use the Create Account <\/b>button.<\/li>\n

      1. Visit the Clone Files Checker website, and download its\u00a0Mac <\/b>edition.<\/li>\n
      2. Double-click the downloaded DMG<\/b> file to install the program on your Macbook.<\/li>\n
      3. Launch the program and click the Add<\/b> button under the Include for Scan<\/b> column.<\/li>\n
      4. Choose the local Google Drive folder\/ folder which contains the data you just downloaded from Google Drive.<\/li>\n
      5. To add any folders to the Ignore List<\/b>, use the Exclude from Scan <\/b>option.<\/li>\n
      6. Now, we\u2019ll set the Search Options<\/b>.\n
          \n
        • Use the All Files<\/b> option to scan everything irrespective of their type.<\/li>\n
        • Alternatively, use the Custom <\/b>option to select individual file type(s) to scan in case you want to limit it to documents, images, videos, or archives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
        • Optionally, use the Ignore files smaller than <\/b>and Ignore files larger than <\/b>file size filters to specify an upper<\/b>\/ lower limit <\/b>for your files. You can specify the file size in kB<\/b>, MB <\/b>or GB<\/b>.<\/li>\n
        • Finally, click on Start Search<\/b> and the scan will be launched at once.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Step # 3: Fix Duplicates<\/h3>\n
            \n
          1. Once the scan is over, you will get a pop up summarizing the scan results.<\/li>\n
          2. Click Review & Fix<\/b> and you will be now be viewing all the duplicates listed out. A list box will display the list of all duplicates grouped by hash with basic details about each file- such as file name<\/b>, type<\/b>, size<\/b>, path<\/b>, modification date<\/b>, and hash<\/b>.<\/li>\n
          3. There are two ways through which you can select the files you want to delete\/ move.\n
              \n
            • Simply use the checkboxes to individually check\/ uncheck your files.<\/li>\n
            • Or even better, use the Select Duplicates <\/b>option to specify one of the following selection criteria:\n
                \n
              • Newest files in each group<\/li>\n
              • Oldest files in each group<\/li>\n
              • Least modified files in each group<\/li>\n
              • Most modified files in each group<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
              • Once you\u2019ve selected your preferred criteria, click Select Action<\/b>, and choose an action (Delete Permanently<\/b>\/ Move to Folder<\/b>).<\/li>\n
              • Once the duplicates have been purged, the changes will be momentarily synced back to the cloud if you were scanning the entire Google Drive local folder or a folder located inside it.
