The protective shield of your computer\u2019s Antivirus software acts like a double-edged sword and affects your computer’s performance. Try temporarily disabling your Antivirus.<\/p>\n

                      5. Select the Off<\/b> option in the Domain Profile<\/b>, Private Profile<\/b> and Public Profile<\/b> tabs.<\/li>\n

                        Prevent DEP Conflicts<\/strong><\/h2>\n

                        Add an exception for RuneScape<\/b>\u2019s executable files to the Data Execution Prevention<\/b>, a security feature in Windows<\/b>.<\/p>\n

                        1. Right-click This PC<\/b>, select Properties<\/b>.<\/li>\n
                        2. Click Advanced system settings<\/b>.<\/li>\n
                        3. Click Advanced<\/b> tab > Settings<\/b> (Performance<\/b>) > Data Execution Prevention<\/b> tab.<\/li>\n
                        4. Select the Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select<\/b> option.<\/li>\n
                        5. Click Add<\/b>.<\/li>\n
                        6. Go to the game installation directory, and locate the following two Executable Files (.exe):\n
