A camera file named IMG_4827 does not say when it was taken or which camera took it. You rename photos using date and camera data by reading those details from the file and writing them into the new name. Easy File Renamer does that in Media Renamer: add the folder, check the new names, and then rename the photos.
Where the date and the camera name come from
Many JPEGs already store a date taken and a camera name. The naming template can insert date taken, camera, camera make, or camera model, and it can add the year, the size, or a sequence. A screenshot or a video often has none of that. If the date taken is missing, the app can use the file’s modified or created time. A camera token stays empty when the file never recorded a camera.

Set the photo name before you rename
Photos, Videos, or both decides what is added from the folder. That list pages through as many as 1,500 files. Click a token into the pattern, or start from Date only when the day is enough. The Date only preset uses {date}. For the date the camera stored, add {date_taken}. The New name column is the check, and Rename writes the names you have already seen.
On this capture, Date taken and Camera are still blank, so a pattern that needs them has nothing to put in New name yet. Read those two columns before you run a whole folder.
When two photos fall on the same day
A date-only name collides as soon as two pictures share that day. The default adds a number, which you can change in Settings, so the second file does not replace the first. Skip File is the other choice, and it leaves that extra file as it was. The finished dialog counts how many names were written, skipped, or failed.

One photo can be renamed by hand after you read its date in File Explorer’s properties, when the photo has one. A camera folder repeats that choice for every file. The preview is what makes the batch safe to apply.
Common questions
Does the trial rename the photos?
No. The trial can load the folder and show the new names. Renaming is disabled until the copy is registered.
What if a video has no camera data?
You can include videos on the same screen. A missing date taken can fall back to the file time. A camera token is filled only when the file actually contains it.
Can the rename be undone?
No. History keeps a log of the batch. It does not put the old names back.
