Move Files from OneDrive Business to OneDrive Personal 100% Online

OneDrive for Business is a cloud-based storage, sharing and collaboration platform for businesses. It offers more storage than an ordinary OneDrive account. Your business also benefits from extended file versioning, several collaboration features such as co-authoring and real-time editing. OneDrive for Business offers seamless integration with Microsoft’s flagship products Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.

But what if you’re running a startup with limited needs and budget? What if your business doesn’t need many of those features? You can save a lot of cost by migrating your files to a standard OneDrive account.

Method 1: Using Microsoft Power Automate

Microsoft Power Automate is a business tool for automating various tasks. It helps businesses analyze data, create logical flows that perform specific actions without user intervention. For example: Businesses can open webpages, navigate through different links, extract specific data from webpages, and store it in Excel or CSV files.

You can use the Power Automate tool to move your files from OneDrive for Business to OneDrive.

Steps:

  1. Visit the Microsoft Power Automate.
  2. Sign-in to your account.
  3. Click the Create button, and select “Automated Flow”.
  4. In the Trigger App, select “OneDrive for Business”.
  5. Select the trigger to “When a file is created or modified (properties only)”.
  6. Select the folder you want to monitor for changes.
  7. Click on the Add button (plus sign).
  8. Select OneDrive.
  9. Set the Action to “Create file”.
  10. Now, sign-in to the OneDrive account where you want to move your files.
  11. Select the destination folder where you want to move your files.
  12. Save the flow.

Method 2: Using Easy Cloud Manager

If you’re a beginner with limited experience in automation, Microsoft Power Automate can be complex. The better alternative is a Web-based tool Easy Cloud Manager.

Easy Cloud Manager provides an easy and beginner-friendly interface. Once you add your cloud accounts, you can move files from one account to another by browsing through your folders.

ECM does not need any download or installation. It encrypts your data in transit to prevent Man-in-the-Middle-Attacks. It generates secure tokens to get temporary access to your cloud files. You can revoke the file access permissions later, if you need.

In addition to cloud transfer, ECM also helps you find and remove duplicate files to free-up significant cloud storage. The in-house file renamer tool helps you batch rename hundreds of files from your cloud without downloading them to your PC.

Steps:

  1. Visit the Easy Cloud Manager and create a new account.
  2. Click on the Home tab.
  3. Click on Add Cloud Drives > OneDrive Business.
  4. Sign-in to your OneDrive for Business account, and provide the required privileges to access your files.
  5. Click on Add Cloud Drives > OneDrive.
  6. Sign-in to your OneDrive account, and provide the file access privileges.
  7. Click on Operations > Data Transfer.
  8. Click on Select Source
  9. Set your OneDrive for Business account as the source account.
  10. Click on Select Target.
  11. Set your OneDrive as the target account.
  12. Select the folders in your source drive you want to transfer.
  13. Select a destination folder from the target drive.
  14. Click on Transfer Now.
